Mohammad-Reza Ahanj's feature film 'I'm an Iranian', starring Iran wrestling champion Ali-Reza Heidari, has won an award in Italy.
The 36th edition of the Milano International FICTS Festival in Italy has bestowed the Best Film Award to 'I'm an Iranian' while a group of Iranian and Italian officials attended the closing ceremony.
Born in 1976, Ali-Reza Heidari is a former Iranian wrestler who has competed at several National and International matches and has won several medals, including a bronze at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
Heidari was chosen as the national sportsman of Iran in the year 1999.
The film narrates the story of an Iranian wrestling champion named Siyavash Kiani. He leaves Iran for a better living and gets married in the new country.
It turns out that life is getting even harder and he faces lots of difficulties. Now, he must act like the Iranian legendary epic hero Siyavash.
The FICTS (Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs) is the organizer of the event, which is the final phase of the World FICTS Challenge that runs in 16 countries, including Iran.
The Tehran FICTS holds in collaboration with the National Olympic and Paralympic Committee, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, IRIB and the Tehran Municipality.
The Milan FICTS was held on November 14-19, 2018.
